Good Housekeeping & Pollution Prevention for Municipal Operations

The goal of the pollution prevention and good housekeeping for municipal facilities program is to prevent or reduce pollutant runoff from municipal operations. To accomplish this, Town facilities have been inventoried and a Stormwater Operation and Maintenance Plan has been developed for each facility. These Stormwater Operation and Maintenance Plans detail the pollution prevention and good housekeeping practices employed at the facility, the frequency of inspections, and training requirements for the employees at the facility.

Town employees also receive stormwater training specific to their facility and job description on a regular basis to ensure pollution prevention practices are being followed and to reduce stormwater pollution from Town facilities and Town projects. Town facilities are also inspected on a regular schedule to ensure pollution prevention practices are being followed.
