Water Treatment Plant Tour
2528 Charlotte Highway
March 6, 2023 | 10 - 11 a.m.
The Town of Mooresville owns and operates two water treatment plants located on Charlotte Highway (US 21) with a combined treatment capacity of 18 million gallons per day (MGD). Water from Lake Norman is treated and quality tested before being sent into the distribution system. The Town currently produces approximately 7 MGD, but that number rises to over 11 MGD in the summer. To help the public better understand how we provide safe, clean drinking water now and into the future, join us for a tour. Register Now
Storm Drain Marking
Location TBD
March 6 , 2023 | 4 – 6 p.m.
Unlike wastewater that is treated, storm sewers discharge directly into waterways. Therefore, any oil, dirt, leaves, grass clippings, pet waste, chemicals, and trash on the streets, sidewalks, and parking lots drain into storm sewers and directly to our local water bodies. Volunteers with the Storm Drain Marking Program place storm drain markers on storm drain inlets to remind everyone that what they allow to enter a storm drain will go directly to our rivers, streams, and lakes. Less dumping means cleaner waterways. Register Now

Installing a rain barrel is one of the easiest ways to reduce your water footprint and help recharge our rivers, lakes, and aquifers. Join the Town of Mooresville Stormwater Division to learn how to assemble your rain barrel and the benefits of having a rain barrel to collect stormwater. Register Now
