THE TOWN’S PUBLIC WORKS DIVISION
The Public Works Division consists of Sanitation/Recycling, Stormwater, and Street Maintenance. This division maintains town roadways, collects and disposes of solid waste and debris, and preserves the town's stormwater drains. If you have a concern about these areas, then let us know here!

SANITATION/RECYCLING "YOUR COMMUNITY, OUR RESPONSIBILITY"
Residents of Mooresville can rest assured that they will receive reliable and consistent waste disposal services from the Sanitation Department. This includes the collection of garbage, bulky items, recycling, and yard waste, which all work together to maintain a clean and safe environment for the community.

STORMWATER
Stormwater runoff is rainwater that runs from impervious surfaces such as driveways, streets, and parking lots before traveling into storm drains and pipes. As runoff travels into the stormwater system, it picks up pollutants such as oil and anti-freeze from cars, extra fertilizer, and pesticides from lawns, trash and litter that accumulate in public areas, and waste from pets, and carries it all into storm drains and ultimately our creeks, streams, and rivers. The stormwater is not treated at a plant so it's important to use precautions and minimize stormwater pollution whenever possible.

STREET MAINTENANCE
Public Works Streets (Street Maintenance) provides maintenance for town-owned streets and services. The group strives to ensure the safety of streets through cost-effective maintenance, patching and resurfacing of asphalt pavements, concrete repairs, street sweeping, snow and ice control, sidewalk repairs, and other street maintenance functions.
