Planning

Planning staff work with property owners, developers, design professionals, and business owners to provide guidance on property development, rezonings, permitting, property annexation into the Town’s corporate limits, and other elements of property development to ensure compliance with the Unified Development Ordinance and other Town policies and plans. The planning staff is responsible for long-range planning efforts to ensure Mooresville remains a high-quality community in the future, including oversight of the OneMooresville Plan, Downtown Masterplan, several small area plans, and annexation agreements with adjacent communities, and the Bicycle Plan. Planning staff work closely with various agencies and departments on transportation improvement initiatives and are involved with the Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization (CRTPO). Planning staff also ensure historic preservation standards are maintained to preserve the Town’s historic district and landmark properties. Contact staff for information here
