In a residential area, the maximum allowable height is four feet in the front yard and six feet in the backyard. Fences can be placed on the property line; however, a survey may be required to determine the property line and if any utility easements are there. If access to a utility easement is restricted by a residential fence neither the town nor the utility company is responsible for repairing/replacing any portion that is damaged or removed to access the easement.
Commercial fences are permitted but could be subject to a zoning approval from the town and a building permit from Iredell County.

Flushable wipes are promoted as being biodegradable and safe for sewer systems. Unfortunately, they do not break down quickly and can cause a backup into your home, or a sewer spill in the public system. Please do not flush anything down toilets other than toilet paper to protect your system and ours.
No. Grease will harden over time in pipes, and eventually cause a blockage with similar results as flushable wipes. For more information, please visit our F.O.G. page to learn more about "Fats, Oils, and Grease" in the sewer system.

For ages 5-8, a head coach is allowed his/her own son/daughter and the son / daughter of one or more assistant coaches. Players have the option to return to their previous team from last season or go back into the draft. After coaches' sons/daughters are assigned and returning players are assigned, the remaining team members will be randomly selected by our computer program to even out each team. For ages nine and up, a head coach is allowed his/her own son/daughter and the son/daughter of one assistant coach. After those selections are made, a lottery-style draft process will be used to select half of each coach's team (this number may vary from sport to sport). Coaches will take turns drawing numbers from a hat and will draft in that order. Once half of each team has been selected by this process, the remaining team members will be assigned randomly by our computer program.
No. The draft process listed above gives coaches freedom to select more players than in the past. It is best to contact the coach and ask him/her to select your child as one of his/her picks. Please understand there is no guarantee that your child will be on a certain team.
Yes, but there are some limits. A player is not allowed to skip an entire age group. Only players in their last year of a division may move up early to the next. (For example, a 10 year old may move up early to the 11-12 division.) If a player moves up early, he/she must do so when initially registered and not mid-season. Once a player decides to move up early, he or she is not allowed to move back down mid-season.
As referenced above, you may not request a specific team or coach. Moving kids to different teams after they are selected has a ripple effect on the entire league and/or program.
The Parks & Recreation Department relies solely on volunteer coaches for its athletic leagues. Interested individuals must complete a coaching application that will be reviewed by the Mooresville Police Department. Once approved, coaches are assigned to teams based on need in each age group.

To report an illicit discharge/stormwater issue please use this form or for after-hours contact 704-664-3311 to report your concern.
One acre that is fully wooded creates no runoff during a 1" rain event. However, one acre that is paved creates over 27,000 gallons of runoff during a 1" rain event.
-Sediment can bury fish eggs and prevent them from hatching.-Fertilizers can cause algae to grow which uses up oxygen that other plants and fish need to survive.-Chemicals from household cleaners and pesticides harm plants and animals.
It is also important to manage the quantity of runoff. Because stormwater runoff travels over impervious surfaces, if it is not managed it can cause localized flooding. High volumes of stormwater runoff can also cause erosion of creek banks.
The Town does not maintain or repair issues that occur on private property, such as:-Yard Flooding-Standing Water-Drainage issues caused by landscaping, roofing or gutter problems-Water that flows from adjoining properties-Creeks or discharge outlets
The stormwater utility is a fee that is billed monthly to all Town utility customers. All money collected from the utility fee will be used for the stormwater program to maintain compliance with the stormwater permit. Additional information about the Town’s stormwater utility fee can be found at: http://www.mooresvillenc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/2281.
